Helena Rosery

Bachelor Student

My name is Helena Rosery, I study Life Science and am currently working on my Bachelor thesis at the neuroscience research group Bahl. I think it is fascinating how simple principles of excitatory and inhibitory neurons can generate a immense range of behavioural output. My research focuses on the anterior rhombencephalic turning region (ARTR) within the functional network of the zebrafish anterior hindbrain. Using light-field microscopy, I capture whole-brain neural dynamics in 3D at high speeds - enabling me to observe how activity across interconnected circuits drives precise locomotor behaviours like directional swimming. Outside the lab, I love staying active and enjoying nature. You’ll often find me playing beach volleyball, biking, hiking, or simply spending time outdoors.
