Henrike Tebartz-van-Elst

My name is Henrike and I am currently working on my bachelor thesis in neuroscience. I have always been fascinated by the brain—how it processes lots of information, how it enables us to think, feel, and make decisions. For my thesis, I will be using a technique called voltage imaging. This method lets us see and track changes in the electrical activity of living cells and tissues in real time. This lets me see how the voltage of cell membranes in the zebrafish brain changes in response to different stimuli, and whilde decision making. When I am not at university, I love spending time outdoors, especially with friends. I love going on long runs, playing the piano or doing some crafts.
